Art Houston Museum Texas Types of Places United States N - Z

The Museum of Fine Arts – Houston, TX

What is it?:
Large art museum with special exhibitions from famed artists such as Vincent Van Gogh.

Bottom line:
GO! – If you have a chance to go while the VanGogh exhibit is there, that alone is worth the cost of admission.

Overall:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5
Pros: Lovely fine arts museum with works from many of the great masters. Jackson Pollock’s Number 6 can be found here.
Cons: None – my kids loved it.

Tips:
As with any museum, I often remind my kids of the 3 museum rules:

  1. No touching
  2. No running
  3. No yelling

And the added bonus rule of giving the artwork at least a 2 foot bubble.

The Van Gogh exhibit runs through June 2019. If you’re there during that period of time, I recommend doing it last because your kids may not want to leave once they’re in there!

Don’t miss Jackson Pollock’s Number 6, especially if you’re roadtripping through West Texas subsequent to Houston because Number 5 can be found in Fort Worth.
